Dark Skies Stargazing Paddle
Paddle the River Arun under one of the world’s rare International Dark Sky Reserves — there are only 19 in total, and we’re lucky enough to call one home. Away from city lights, the skies open up to reveal a glittering tapestry of stars, constellations, and, on the clearest nights, even the Milky Way.
This two-hour, instructor-led evening paddle is your chance to experience the river in complete darkness, with only the starlight to guide you. Drift through calm waters, pause to gaze upward, and feel the stillness of the night all around you.
For this tour and to maximise safety we limit to 2 people to a canoe and ask that at least one person per boat has paddled before/has some experience to steer the boat.
We aim for the nights of the new moon when the skys are darkest however we are totally weather/cloud dependent and so appreciate your flexibility around this time in case we need to change to dates and go out a day or two before or after.
We want to deliver the best experience for all in case we're not able to go or the revised dates don't work then we'll happily move your booking to the next month or issue a full refund.
